PERSONAL SUPPORT

We provide personal support for women who have or are experiencing domestic violence and who live in the Grampians region. Domestic Violence includes physical, emotional, sexual, social and financial violence.

This support is completely confidential and free and available over the working week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm

Workers can see women at the centre, or prior arrangements can be made to meet women in safe places aside from the centre.

Workers are available for counselling in cases of domestic violence, to facilitate support groups for survivors, to assist in the finding of emergency accommodation, to seek financial assistance, to provide court support for women involved in legal resolutions, for community education, for referral to appropriate agencies, for contacts for other resources and information.

Domestic Violence is a violation of the rights of women and children and occurs as a result of the power imbalance between women and men. WRISC prioritises the safety of women and children and uses a feminist approach by working with women in a way that validates their independance and empowerment.

If you would like to contact WRISC please see the details on our opening page.
